⚔️ Abyssal Pact: Official Beta Guide
Welcome to the abyss. Abyssal Pact is a tactical dark fantasy card game where your life force is your most valuable currency. Every card played and every blow struck carries a cost.
🌑 1. Core Resources
Understanding your resources is the key to survival:
- Soul Energy (SE): Your health and your mana. You start with 30 SE. Some powerful cards require you to pay SE to cast them. If your SE hits 0, you lose.
- Action Points (AP): Your energy for summoning. You start each turn with 3 AP (unless modified by a Domain). Most Spirits and Spells cost AP to play.
- ⚔️ 2. Combat: The "Static DEF" System
Abyssal Pact uses a lethal, binary combat system. There is no "chip damage" to units.- The Rule: To destroy a target, your ATK must be Equal to or Greater than the defender's DEF.
- Formula: $$ATK \ge DEF = \text{Destroyed}$$
- Outcome: If your ATK is lower than the enemy's DEF, the enemy takes 0 damage. You must use Spells or Relics to buff your units to break through high-DEF walls.
- 🩸 3. Advanced Mechanics
🌀 Abyssal Domains (Field Effects) At the start of every match, the environment shifts. A random Domain is activated, changing the rules for both players:- Bloodstained Colosseum: Boosts Spirit ATK and rewards kills with SE.
- Abandoned Sanctuary: Boosts Vessel DEF and punishes failed attacks.
- Madness Rift: Increases starting AP to 4 for faster plays.
- Altar of the Eclipse: Makes Awakening cheaper but destroys all active Relics.
- The Cost: You must pay a portion of your current SE (typically 1/2).
- The Power: Your Vessel transforms into a high-stat powerhouse and unlocks a devastating "Finisher" ability.
- Deck Commander Playstyle
- The Devourer Prince Vlad High risk, high reward. Uses the graveyard as a resource and copies enemy powers.
- The Martyr Celestia Defensive and retaliatory. Protects units with shields and gains power as SE is lost. 🔄
- Start Phase: Draw 1 card. Replenish AP.
- Main Phase: Play Spirits, Spells, and Relics. Use card abilities.
- Combat Phase: Declare attacks. (Note: Spirits cannot attack on the turn they are summoned).
- End Phase: Effects that trigger "at the end of turn" activate. Pass to the opponent.
- Balance: Are certain Domains too punishing?
- Clarity: Are card descriptions easy to understand?
- Bugs: Did a skill fail to trigger?
- Enjoy the descent. May your pact be strong.
Note: Currently, you can only play against yourself on your device. Online play support will be available in the future.
